Personnel Hired, Duties Shifted

The CISD school board on June 28 approved the following:

Hiring a new Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. See Dr. Darlene Callender's bio.

Hiring a new Financial Officer with status of Assistant Superintendent. See David Johnson's bio.

Transferring Randy Stone from Curriculum Coordinator to Director of Human Resources. See Randy Stone's bio.

This leaves the school with a Superintendent and three Assistant Superintendents, one of which serves as Chief Financial Officer.

According to Superintendent Dr. Ronny Beard, no replacements will be hired for Dr. Sharron Miles and her daughter Amy Martin, who both resigned. A replacement may not be hired for Gina Jones, who also resigned.

According to former Interim Superintendent Dr. James Warlick on July 9, 2008, Mike Bailey will remain with the title of Assistant Superintendent at the same salary but have his duties as Financial Officer removed..

Dr. Sharron Miles is still being paid at full salary through November 7 as a "consultant" even though she resigned effective July 1.

Carolyn Cody retired as Assistant Superintendent. She will be rehired for an estimated 2 - 3 weeks to train her replacement.

Earlier, Joe Ripple left his position as Assistant Superintendent shortly after the investigation began.

In March, Superintendent Robert Damron was "reassigned" as a "consultant" and collected his full salary until July 1 while performing no duties.
