July 9, 2007 Former CISD Board member Dean Woodruff was sworn in July 9 to replace resigning member Brad Allen as Place 6 Trustee. Administering the oath is Sally Smith. Brad Allen resigned two days after being sworn in to serve a third 3-year term. Allen had won re-election May 12, receiving 55% of the votes over challenger Pat Linkenhoger, who got 45% of the votes. Woodruff will serve until the May, 2008 election when a new member will be elected to fill the remaining two years of the Place 6 term. The places now held by Donna Boles and Stu Madison will also be up for election. On the same night that Woodruff was sworn in, the board voted to hire Bill Allen, brother of resigning board member Brad Allen, as Assistant Principle at Smith Middle School.
