Dear President Boles and Trustees:

Teresa Blackwell recently gave you a letter addressing the naming of the new elementary schools. I support her proposal.

There are many educators from the past who have had a great influence on the Cleburne school system. I would like to see three of them honored by naming the new schools with their names. I prefer we honor educators rather than businessmen or prominent citizens.

I think Mrs. Blackwell's suggestions are good. I encourage you to you to rename these schools using her suggestions. Now is the time to make the name changes before construction is completed.

The old schools (Santa Fe, Irving and Adams) have served well in the honor of their namesakes. Just as the High School (now Guinn Justice Center), they will remain a part of Cleburne's history. Let us leave them standing on their own in our history and not cloud their glorious past by naming the new schools the same as the old.
