Congressman Chet Edwards received a letter from the US Department of Education in D.C. saying they received a letter from the FBI regarding possible misuse of taxpayer dollars and state funds by Cleburne ISD. The letter goes on to say that they have contacted the Texas Department of Education and learned that they are investigating CISD for possible fraud involving federal funds. The DOE letter says they are awaiting findings of the TEA audit and will then determine future action.
