Which Version is the Truth?

Cleburne ISD Superintendent Dr. Ronny Beard has apparently gone on a PR campaign to tell the public that CISD did nothing wrong, that there were simply funds taken out of the wrong account, but that the money was spent on the children's educational needs.

At the ProNet meeting this past week, he was heard to say "The fiasco is over." He repeated his story of no wrongdoing in his speech to the group.

Dr. Beard, when asked by the Time-Review about the investigation into criminal acts two weeks ago, said "It's done. We've investigated everything, every allegation. We've had our lawyers go through that with a fine tooth comb. They have found nothing illegal."

Yet in the Sunday, January 25 edition of the Times-Review, Dr. Monte Geren, CISD's monitor, was quoted as saying "My understanding is that the information has been reported to Dr. Beard and the board, and instructions were given to the school district's attorneys to take it to the Johnson County district attorney.

"The school district's attorneys didn't rush to judgment. Now, they're getting closer to a conclusion."

Two different stories. So - which one is the truth?
